Rocket Lab Shares Up, Co. to Launch Orbital Debris Removal Demonstration

Shares of launch services and space systems company Rocket Lab USA Inc. are trading higher after-hours Tuesday, following news the company signed a dedicated launch contract with Astroscale Japan Inc. for an orbital debris removal demonstration mission.

Astroscale's satellite has been chosen for the mission by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency as part of the Commercial Removal of Debris Demonstration Project, the company said.

At 5:14 p.m. ET, shares of Rocket Lab USA were trading 3.66% higher at $15. Volume at the time topped 121,000 shares.

The company's stock finished the day's regular-trading session with a 2.3% loss, closing at $14.47.
