AmazonSo far, more than 200 companies have signed climate commitments launched with Global Optimism two years ago to achieve net zero emissions in their operations by 2040, 10 years ahead of the targets set by the Paris climate agreement, it said on Monday.
The more than 200 companies are located in 21 countries, spanning 26 industries, with annual global revenue of more than $1.8 trillion and more than 7 million employees.
Amazon.Com Inc CEO Andy Andy Jassy said in a press release: "solving this challenge cannot be accomplished by one company. This is one of the reasons why we are excited to announce that more than 200 companies have signed climate commitments with us. The commitment will achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement 10 years ahead of schedule. "
