Rivian founder and CEO Robert Joseph Scaringe (Robert Joseph Scaringe) said, “After months of trial production, our first customer vehicle opened our production line this morning! Our team worked together to make this moment possible.”
A Rivian spokesperson confirmed that the cars being produced are saleable. She declined to discuss the company's production plans, including how many pickups were produced on Tuesday and which customers will receive the first batch of these pickups.
GMThe GMC Hummer electric pickup is expected to be launched this fall, and Tesla recently delayed delivery of its Cybertruck from this year to the end of next year.
