“Stock Goddess” sold Tesla shares for the second day in a row to cash out $138 million

新浪美股 ·  Sep 10, 2021 11:22

Three funds owned by Ark Investments founder Cathy Wood were sold for two consecutive days on Wednesday and ThursdayTeslaStocks, taking advantage of the stock's recovery from months of sluggish performance, cashed out a total of about 138.5 million US dollars.

Following the sale of 142,708 Tesla shares on Wednesday, the three funds sold another 40,940 shares on Thursday, for a total of 183,648 shares over two days.

Tesla's stock price is up about 3% this week so far, rising 0.13% on Thursday to close at $754.86. So far this year, the company's stock price has increased by about 3.4% cumulatively.

Wood's three funds — Ark Automation Technology and Robotics ETF, Ark Innovation ETF, and Ark Next Generation Internet ETF — all have Tesla as the largest heavy-duty stock. Before Thursday's deal, they held a total of 4.37 million shares of the company, worth 3.3 billion US dollars. Other Ark ETFs don't have Tesla's stock.

According to analysis, Wood is selling a small amount of Tesla stock this time, and is doing swing trading with Fenggao shipments. Tesla remains one of its most important holdings.

In an interview last Friday, Wood reiterated her basic prediction for Tesla to reach $3,000 per share in the long term. She believes Tesla's chances of success are rising, mainly due to its market share. From the end of 2017 until now, Tesla's market share has not only not declined, but has risen sharply. New electric cars from traditional carmakers will only validate Tesla's strategy. Furthermore, Wood is optimistic about the potential of China's electric vehicle market.
