Walmart Inc U.S. CEO John Funer (John Furner) said in a memo to employees that this is the company's third investment in salary in the past year, and Walmart Inc's average hourly wage in the United States is now $16.40.
Employees who work in the front end of Walmart Inc's store, the food and consumer goods department and the general goods department will receive higher wages, and the pay increase will take effect on Sept. 25, Mr. Funer said.
