Petrobras announced on December 16, 2024, that Pietro Adamo Sampaio Mendes, the current Chairman of the company's Board of Directors, has been nominated by the Presidency of the Republic to serve as a Director on the Board of the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP).The nomination requires approval from the Federal Senate and subsequent appointment by the President of the Republic, as stipulated under article 5 of Law 9.986/2000 governing Regulatory Agencies. During this approval process, Mr. Mendes will continue to serve in his current role as Chairman of Petrobras's Board of Directors.
