This week, the S&P 500 Index rose approximately 0.4%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose about 0.3%, the NASDAQ Composite rose about 0.6%, the PHLX Semiconductor Index increased by roughly 3.1%, the Banks Index rose approximately 1%, the Biotech Index increased about 0.6%, while the E-mini Russell 2000 Index remained flat. On Friday, the S&P 500 Index initially fell by 1.1%, with the Consumer Sector down about 2%, the Technology Sector down 1.5%, and the Telecom Sector down 1.1%. The NASDAQ 100 Index initially closed down 1.4%, with constituent Tesla down 5.1%, Palantir down 3.6%, AppLovin down 3.5%, and the "Bitcoin whale" MicroStrategy down 3.1%, the fourth-largest drop. NVIDIA fell 2.1%, Grail increased by 0.6%, and Biogen (BIIB) rose 0.9%. The Dow Jones initially closed down over 300 points, with constituents NVIDIA, Microsoft, Amazon, and Apple leading the decline, while Boeing rose by 0.2%.
