Hurtado Parra, who has been serving in this capacity since June 15, 2024, following the company's announcement of a new organizational structure on June 6, 2024, is now officially assuming the role. With a background as an electrical engineer and over 27 years of experience in the energy sector, including significant roles at Ecopetrol and the International Gas Transporter (TGI), Hurtado Parra is tasked with increasing the company's reserves, advancing the decarbonization of operations, strengthening the gas portfolio, and supporting the traditional business to ensure energy security and facilitate the transition to new energy paradigms. Ecopetrol, which is responsible for over 60% of Colombia's hydrocarbon production, also has a significant presence in the American continent's energy sector, including stakes in strategic basins and various energy and telecommunications ventures through its acquisition of ISA's shares.
