The Spanish government has canceled the contract for purchasing ammunition from Israel.

On April 24 local time, the Spanish government announced that it has unilaterally canceled a contract from the Ministry of Interior to purchase bullets from Israel. Since the outbreak of the new round of conflict between Israel and Palestine, Spain has repeatedly criticized Israeli military actions and promised to stop arms trading with Israel. Last October, Spain announced the cancellation of a contract to purchase more than 15 million rounds of 9mm bullets from Israeli companies, worth about 6.6 million euros. However, earlier this month, the Spanish government decided to include this contract as part of new defense spending. According to the Israel Times, the reason given by the Spanish government is that breaching the contract would mean 'losing both money and goods.' This decision by the Spanish government faced strong opposition from the Unified Party, leading to a forced cancellation of the contract under pressure.
