Goldman Sachs' Technology Research Director in Greater China, Zhang Bokkai, recently released Research Reports predicting that in the next five years, up to 70,000 low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites will be launched worldwide. These satellites are typically located at altitudes of 100-1,200 miles above Earth and can orbit the planet every 90 minutes, supporting mobile, broadband, maritime, and aviation data demands. Zhang and his team's basic prediction is that by 2035, the market size for satellites will increase from the current $15 billion to $108 billion. In the most optimistic scenario, this market size could grow to $457 billion. Among the approximately 70,000 satellites expected to be launched in the next five years, about 53,000 may come from China.
