Recently, the State Administration for Market Regulation (National Standards Committee) approved and released the new national standard "After-Sales Service Methods and Requirements for Consumer Goods" (GB/T 18760—2025), which will be implemented from May 1, 2025. The new standard focuses on the application of new technologies and improvement of service quality, proposing four overall principles for after-sales service: timely response, professionalism and reliability, convenience and accessibility, and openness and transparency. It further strengthens the requirements for after-sales service organizations and their personnel, including producers, sellers, and authorized service providers. In response to the new situation, it supplements after-sales service types such as delivery, extended warranty, and recycling, as well as after-sales service methods based on networking and digitization, and enhances the requirements for consumer data privacy protection. The new standard will provide overall guidance to improve after-sales service requirements in various sub-sectors of consumer goods, help enhance the consumer experience, promote Consumption Upgrade, and has a positive significance for boosting consumption and expanding domestic demand.
