At the Second China Solid State Battery Innovation Development Summit Forum, Liu Fangyang, the Chief Scientist of Yunnan Energy New Material from Hunan, indicated that the company is currently in the pilot phase of developing lithium sulfide and solid state electrolytes. It is expected that by the end of 2024 to 2025, a pilot line for lithium sulfide production at the hundred-ton level, a pilot line for solid state electrolytes of thionyl chloride at the ten-ton level, and a pilot production line for electrolyte membranes will be established. It is projected that by the end of 2026 to 2027, the company will enter mass production phase, constructing a mass production line for lithium sulfide at the thousand-ton level and a mass production line for solid state electrolytes of thionyl chloride at the thousand-ton level, achieving mass production of ultra-thin thionyl chloride electrolytes.
