Regulatory filing documents on Friday showed that the conglomerate headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, reduced its stake in Bank of America to 8.9% in the fourth quarter of last year. Berkshire's earlier shareholding reduction caused the stake to drop below 10%, which exempted it from the requirement for rapid disclosure of trades. The remaining hold positions were valued at $31.9 billion at Friday's close. The 94-year-old Buffett began reducing his investment in Bank of America in mid-July but did not provide any explanation. After reducing his stake in Apple earlier in 2024, Berkshire did not further reduce its holdings in the last few months of last year. The iPhone manufacturer remains Berkshire's largest individual stock position, accounting for 28% of its portfolio. The value of the hold positions increased by over $5 billion during the quarter.
