The spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce responded to reporters' questions regarding Japan's plan to implement multiple export control measures on Semiconductors and other items. A reporter asked: On January 31, the Japanese government announced plans to impose export controls on more than a dozen Semiconductors-related items and included several Chinese enterprises in the 'end user list', among others. What is China's comment on this?
Answer: China has noted the relevant situation. For some time now, a few countries have generalized the Concept of National Security, abused export control measures, and imposed sanctions on China's Semiconductors and other industries. The export control measures that Japan intends to implement will affect the safety and stability of the Industry Chain and Supply Chain, disrupt normal commercial exchanges between companies, and harm the interests of enterprises in both countries.
Currently, Japan’s related measures are open for public consultation. We hope Japan listens to the rational voices from the industry, timely corrects its relevant practices in light of maintaining international economic and trade rules and the overall situation of China-Japan economic and trade cooperation, avoids measures that hinder the healthy development of China-Japan economic and trade relations, and jointly maintains the stability and smoothness of the Global Industry Chain and Supply Chain. China reserves the right to take necessary measures to resolutely safeguard its legitimate rights and interests.
