The Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission has issued the "Shanghai Brain-computer Interface Future Industry Cultivation Action Plan (2025-2030)." It proposes that by 2030, high-quality brain control will be achieved, Brain-computer Interface products will be fully clinically applied, a Global innovation hub for Brain-computer Interface products will be created, and the core links of the Industry Chain will be self-controlled and manageable. A series of invasive and semi-invasive Brain-computer Interface products have entered the medical instruments registration and approval stage, assisting blind patients to partially recover their visual abilities; helping paralyzed patients to partially regain their whole body tactile perception and motor abilities; providing new treatment methods for difficult-to-treat brain diseases such as epilepsy and severe depression. The upstream Industry Chain of Brain-computer Interfaces has basically achieved localization, facilitating the integrated development of Brain-computer Interfaces with AI and Virtual Reality. A national-level development cluster for Brain-computer Interface industries will be established, with several companies becoming globally influential, making the development of Brain-computer Interfaces a core strength within the strategic emerging industries.
