On January 10th, the China Music Copyright Association announced that in 2024, amidst a complex and changing external environment, and with leading online music platforms continuously infringing on music works and refusing to pay licensing fees, the association will actively protect rights while continuously expanding and optimizing licensing services. Ultimately, it achieved annual copyright usage fee income of 0.477 billion yuan (amount received, subject to final annual report data), an increase of 11.7% compared to 2023, exceeding the previous highest of 0.442 billion yuan in 2021, setting a new historical high. Since its establishment, the association has collected a total of 4.35 billion yuan in usage fees for music copyright holders.
