Taiwan Semiconductor's sales in the fourth quarter of last year surpassed expectations, reinforcing investors' predictions that the wave of AI Hardware spending will continue into 2025. In the period from October to December last year, sales rose by 39% to 868.5 billion New Taiwan dollars (approximately 26.3 billion US dollars), exceeding the estimated average of 854.7 billion New Taiwan dollars. This strong performance bolstered expectations that large Technology companies, from Google to Microsoft, will continue to rapidly build and upgrade Datacenters to drive the development of AI. This month, AI Server manufacturer Hon Hai announced better-than-expected sales, while Microsoft outlined plans to invest 80 billion dollars in Datacenters during this fiscal year. Since the debut of ChatGPT at the end of 2022, Taiwan Semiconductor's stock price has more than doubled, with its Market Cap briefly surpassing 1 trillion dollars.
