Collins emphasized the need to remain patient, indicating that her outlook on interest rates is consistent with the median forecast released by the Federal Reserve after the December meeting. This means there will be two interest rate cuts this year, fewer than the four predicted in September. 'Over time, it would be appropriate to relax further, but possibly less than I thought in September,' Collins said in an interview on Wednesday. 'In my view, as we consider policies for 2025, taking the time to really patiently and comprehensively assess the data — patiently parsing — is likely to be appropriate.'
