The General Office of the Shanghai Municipal Government issued the "Shanghai New Energy Storage Demonstration and Innovative Development Work Plan (2025-2030)." It stated that new energy storage is an important fundamental tool and key supporting technology for building a new energy system, ensuring the safety of energy and electrical utilities, and achieving autonomous control, which is significant for promoting economic and social development and a comprehensive green transformation. To accelerate the agglomeration of the city's new energy storage industry and high-quality innovative development, and to cultivate new productive forces, this work plan was formulated. By 2030, a leading enterprise with a scale of hundreds of billions will be cultivated, striving for an application scale exceeding 2 million kilowatts, achieving complete peak load shaving, and doubling the industry size.
