According to the Civil Aviation Administration of China, in 2024, the entire civil aviation industry completed a total transportation turnover of 148.52 billion ton-kilometers, passenger transportation volume of 0.73 billion trips, and cargo and mail transportation volume of 8.982 million tons, with year-on-year growth of 25%, 17.9%, and 22.1% respectively. The passenger turnover in Peking and Shanghai once again exceeded 100 million, and international passenger flights increased to 6400 per week, recovering to 84% of the 2019 levels, with international cargo and mail transportation volume increasing by 29.3% year-on-year. Nineteen new points to countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative Concept were added, and the passenger transportation volume from our country to Central Asia, Western Asia, and Europe exceeded the 2019 levels, increasing by 152.4%, 49.5%, and 25.7% respectively. In 2024, the entire civil aviation industry reduced losses by 19.24 billion yuan year-on-year, essentially achieving a balance between profit and loss, and airlines recorded profits.
