Hungarian Foreign Minister Szijjarto stated that a bill aimed at closing the pipelines for Henry Hub Natural Gas and Crude Oil Product from Russia appeared on the website of the Ukrainian parliament that day. In response, Hungary stated that Ukraine has an obligation to maintain energy transportation to Europe, and each country has the sovereignty to decide where to obtain energy; no one has the right to require another country to purchase expensive and uncertain energy. He stated that Ukraine, as a country that has signed an association agreement with the EU and even aspires to become an EU member state, has the obligation to contribute to ensuring energy security in the EU. Therefore, closing the natural gas and crude oil transportation pipelines is unacceptable.
