Canada's Finance Minister Dominic LeBlanc has decided not to run for the leadership of the Liberal Party because he needs to focus on addressing the tariff threats from the Trump administration. LeBlanc issued a statement on X, thanking Liberal MPs and MPs from across the country for their support, but he will not participate in the campaign. He wrote, "Serving the people of Canada is a great honor. At a critical moment in Canada’s relationship with its most important ally and trading partner, the USA, I firmly believe that the best way to serve the country right now is to concentrate fully on my work."
