According to the Ministry of Transportation, it is predicted that during this year's Spring Festival travel season, there will be 4.97 million passenger trips to and from the island via the Qiongzhou Strait, a year-on-year increase of 3%, and about 0.944 million small vehicles, a year-on-year increase of approximately 5%. As the number of travelers increases, the demand for rental cars on the island continues to rise. To enhance the level of Rental & Leasing Services for small vehicles in Hainan Province and actively promote "car rental tourism" to ensure public confidence in renting cars, the Hainan Transportation Department has formulated several measures to improve the rental service level during the Spring Festival travel period for public convenience. It will collaborate with the Guangdong Transportation Department to add parking spaces in and around the ports of Zhanjiang and Xuwen, strengthen ferry connections between ferry terminals, and facilitate public parking and ferry rides to the island; enhance the evaluation and scheduling of rental vehicle capacity, providing convenience for rental companies to transfer vehicles from outside during the Spring Festival. While reinforcing service guarantees, the Hainan Transportation Department will collaborate with relevant departments to strengthen monitoring of rental pricing behavior, strictly cracking down on price gouging and excessive price increases during the Spring Festival travel season, and improve the order of the rental market, urging rental companies to operate with integrity and effectively safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of consumers.
