Czech Central Bank Governor Aleš Michl recently stated that Bitcoin is a potential diversification strategy for the country's Forex reserves, highlighting the government's growing interest in Cryptos as a savings technology. In an interview with CNN Prima News, Michl mentioned that he is considering acquiring "some Bitcoin" to achieve diversification, which is not considered a significant investment for the bank. However, Janis Aliapulios, a member of the central bank committee, said, "Overall, the Czech central bank is not currently considering purchasing crypto assets for its reserves. However, Governor Michl does not rule out the possibility of further debate on this topic in the future." Aliapulios added that the central bank will continue its diversification plan by purchasing Gold in the near future, aiming to increase its Gold holdings to about 5% of total Assets by 2028.
