USA President-elect Donald Trump pledged to carry out the largest deportation operation in the country's history. The chief of the operation he selected stated that it would require hundreds of billions of dollars to complete this task, but ultimately it will ease the burden on taxpayers. "That's a lot of money. Indeed it is," said Tom Homan, the border affairs chief leading the deportation operation, during a Republican women's club meeting in Central Texas on Monday night. "But right now we have to incur permanent expenditures of hundreds of billions of dollars for this." Homan referred to the estimated deportation cost that could reach 86 billion dollars, although the specific scope remains unclear. However, he noted that this figure is nothing compared to the continuous provision of housing, food, and migration costs to immigrants entering the USA.
