On January 3rd, the "Joint Investigation Headquarters" established by the National Investigation Department of the South Korean National Police Agency, the Public Security Division, and the Defense Ministry launched an investigation against Park Jong-joon (phonetic), the Director of the Presidential Security Service, and Kim Sung-hoon (phonetic), the Deputy Director, for allegedly "obstructing special duties". They were requested to attend the investigation today (January 4th), but they did not respond to the police summons. The Presidential Security Service announced through the media today that: "Currently, it is a crucial period for the presidential security work, and neither the Director nor the Deputy Director can leave for even a moment."
