According to the statistics quick report data from Shanghai International Airport, in 2024, the total number of flights in and out of Shanghai International Airport was 0.803 million, a year-on-year increase of 15%; passenger throughput exceeded 0.124 billion, a year-on-year increase of 29%, setting a new historical record; and cargo and mail throughput was 4.206 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 11%. In 2024, Shanghai International Airport, in coordination with airlines, added 10 new destinations, increased frequency on 19, and resumed 8 flight routes. Among these, the routes to Venice, Italy, Marseille, France, Manama, Bahrain, and Kazan, Russia, are the first routes in the country, with a hub network covering 291 destinations in 48 countries globally. The transfer rate at Pudong Airport rose to 15.7% for the whole year, setting a new historical record.
