On December 31, the China Copyright Association announced that Tencent Music Entertainment Group was again determined to have infringed upon copyrighted music works managed by the association without permission, as ruled by the court. As of December 19, 2024, regarding the lawsuit by the Copyright Society against Guangzhou Kugou Computer Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Kugou Music") for infringing the network dissemination rights of music works, the Copyright Society received the second-instance judgment from the Guangzhou Intellectual Property Court (2024 Yue 73 Min Zhong 404, 405, 406, 408, 409, 410, 1534-1537, 1539, 1540), which dismissed all appeals by Kugou Music and upheld the original ruling. The first-instance court ruled that Kugou Music should compensate the Copyright Society for economic losses totaling nearly 0.22 million yuan.
