The new energy vehicle market will maintain a vigorous momentum in 2024, with annual production and sales both exceeding 10 million vehicles for the first time, and the penetration rate of new energy passenger vehicles breaking 50% for several consecutive months. Several interviewed experts indicated that the new energy vehicle market in China is expected to continue to maintain rapid growth, with policy support, technological advancement, and jiegoutiaozheng becoming strong driving forces for the development of the new energy vehicle industry; relevant departments should strengthen guidance in response to industry competition to promote high-quality development of the new energy vehicle industry. Zhang Yongwei, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the China Electric Vehicle 100 Forum, stated that by 2025, the overall automotive market in China will progress steadily, with an estimated total sales of around 32 million vehicles; among them, sales of new energy vehicles are expected to be about 16.5 million vehicles (including exports), with a year-on-year growth rate close to 30% and a penetration rate exceeding 50%; domestic sales of new energy vehicles are expected to reach 15 million vehicles, with a penetration rate exceeding 55%.
