On the 28th local time, Russian President Putin and Azerbaijani President Aliyev had a phone call regarding the crash of an Azerbaijani Airlines plane, during which they apologized for the physical and technical interference the ill-fated passenger aircraft experienced in Russian airspace. Aliyev pointed out during the call that passengers and crew members were injured by foreign objects penetrating the cabin in mid-air. On the same day, Ukrainian President Zelensky also stated that he had a conversation with Aliyev and expressed condolences regarding the crash incident. In relation to the investigation of the crash, Kazakh President Tokayev emphasized on the 28th the need to prevent information provocation and disinformation activities. The Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan mentioned that the country has brought in 17 international experts to participate in the investigation.
