On December 28 local time, Deputy Prime Minister Bozumbayev of Kazakhstan was interviewed by Kazakh media regarding the investigation into the crash of the Azerbaijani Airlines passenger plane. Bozumbayev stated that Kazakhstan has brought in 17 international experts to participate in the investigation, including 6 from Azerbaijan, 2 from Embraer, 3 from the Brazilian Center for Aircraft Accident Investigation and Prevention, 3 from the Intergovernmental Aviation Committee, and 2 from Russia. An expert from the International Civil Aviation Organization is also set to arrive in Aktau. Bozumbayev noted that experts are currently concluding that the aircraft was damaged outside of Kazakhstan's airspace. The investigation team has designated a comprehensive examination regarding traces, ballistics, and explosion. The timing of the explosion and its causes should be clarified through this assessment. The Kazakh side will inform Kazakhstan and the Global public about the evaluation results. Bozumbayev also stated that Kazakhstan has not faced pressure during the investigation, and no country has attempted to interfere with it. (CCTV News)
