On December 28, according to the official WeChat account of China Southern Power Grid, with the sequential grid connection of 4 wind turbine units of the Guangdong Yangjiang Qingzhou VI offshore wind power project on the 15th collection line, Guangdong's total offshore wind power installed capacity reached 11.98 million kilowatts, ranking first in the country. The annual power generation is approximately 35.9 billion kilowatt-hours, which can equivalently save about 10.42 million tons of standard coal compared to coal-fired power plants of equivalent capacity, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 27.72 million tons. Supported by a series of policies such as the "Guangdong Energy Development 13th Five-Year Plan" and the "Guangdong Offshore Wind Power Development Plan (2017-2030) (Revised)", Guangdong has rapidly developed by leveraging its regional advantages, elevating to first place in just five years.
