As of now, the operating mileage of railroads nationwide is approximately 0.162 million kilometers, including approximately 0.047 million kilometers of High-speed Rail and over 0.025 million kilometers of local railroads; it is expected that the total fixed asset investment in railroads nationwide will exceed 800 billion yuan for the entire year, with about 3000 kilometers of new lines put into operation, of which about 2300 kilometers are High-speed Rail. The passenger and freight volume of railroads continues to grow steadily, with an expected nationwide passenger volume of approximately 4.3 billion people for the whole year, a year-on-year increase of about 11.7%; the freight volume is about 5.18 billion tons, with a year-on-year increase of about 3%. The high-quality development of railroads has achieved new results, providing strong support for the continuous recovery and improvement of the national economy.
