The United Kingdom think tank Center for Economics and Business Research (CEBR) predicts that Japan's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) will drop to fifth in the world by 2039. As of 2024, Japan's GDP ranks fourth in the world, following the USA, China, and Germany. By 2039, the USA and China will still hold the first and second positions, but India is expected to rise to third place, Germany will rank fourth, and Japan's position will decline.
