On December 19, Sony Group announced a capital and Business cooperation with Japan's content giant Kadokawa Group (KADOKAWA). It will invest nearly 50 billion yen (approximately 0.32 billion USD) to acquire new shares from the latter, increasing its stake to about 10%, thus becoming Kadokawa Group's largest Shareholder. Kadokawa plans to allocate 20 billion yen for developing and acquiring new IPs, and 29.7 billion yen for strengthening Global distribution.
