The Hong Kong Securities Regulatory Commission today issued licenses to four virtual asset trading platform applicants in accordance with the expedited licensing procedure. Dr. Ye Zhiheng, Executive Director of the Intermediaries Department of the Securities Regulatory Commission, said, “The Association has always taken the initiative to communicate with senior management and ultimate controllers of virtual asset trading platforms. The move helps us clarify the regulatory standards they should meet and expedite the licensing process for virtual asset trading platforms. The Association strives to strike a balance between safeguarding the interests of investors and promoting the continued development of Hong Kong's virtual asset ecosystem.”
