On December 12, China's Vice Minister of Finance Liao Min co-hosted the 7th meeting of the Sino-US Economic Working Group with US Deputy Finance Minister Shang Bo while attending the G20 Finance and Central Bank Deputy Meeting in Johannesburg, South Africa. The two sides had frank, in-depth, and constructive communication on the macroeconomic situation and policies of the two countries, and joint cooperation to help low-income countries deal with global challenges such as liquidity issues and multilateral development bank governance reforms. The Chinese side has clarified its position on related economic and trade issues. The Chinese side also expressed concern over the recent economic and trade restrictions imposed by the US against China. (Treasury)
