We learned from the State Administration of Radio and Television that the group standard “Technical Requirements and Measurement Methods for Universal Remote Control for Televisions” was officially released a few days ago. The standard stipulates the requirements and measurement methods for television universal remote control technology, and is suitable for the development, production, application and measurement of televisions and distributed universal remote controls. According to reports, this standard was jointly drafted and prepared by the Radio and Television Planning Institute of the State Administration of Radio and Television, the China Electronics Technology Standardization Research Institute, a number of television manufacturers, and remote control planners. Together with the “General Remote Control Technical Requirements and Measurement Methods for Set-top Boxes” industry standard issued by the State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television in October this year, it provides a full range of technical standard guarantees for consumers to achieve “watching TV with one remote control”, and will effectively solve the “many remote controls and complicated operation” problems that plague consumers.
