On the evening of the 12th local time, the Arab League (AL) Council held a meeting of permanent representatives in Cairo, Egypt. The meeting ultimately passed a resolution condemning Israel's occupation of the military buffer zone between Israel and Syria, as well as surrounding areas including Mount Sheikh, Quneitra, and the suburbs of Damascus. The resolution states that Israel's actions violate the disengagement agreement signed by both parties in 1974. The resolution also condemns Israel's attacks on some civilian and military sites in Syria. It calls on the international community to urge Israel to comply with relevant international legitimacy resolutions, particularly Security Council Resolution 497, which demands Israel's withdrawal from the occupied Golan Heights.
