The head of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology revealed at the China 5G Development Conference held in Shanghai that China has completed the 14th Five-Year Plan for 5G construction ahead of schedule. Zhang Yunming stated that the 5G network has fully covered key hotspots such as government centers, cultural and tourist attractions, and transport routes, and is continuously expanding to rural and remote areas. China's 5G technology industry has built a complete Industry Chain that includes communication chips, terminals, base station equipment, and facility instruments, with nearly 2,000 5G terminal products launched for commercial use. The Ministry has hosted seven sessions of the 5G application solicitation competition, with application cases exceeding 0.1 million, and 5G applications have already integrated into 80 out of 97 major categories of the national economy. The Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA) report shows that in 2023, the mobile ecosystem represented by 5G in China has created approximately 8 million job opportunities.
