On December 8th, the Ministry of Finance and the World Bank (hereinafter referred to as the WB) jointly held the launch ceremony for the China-WB Group Global Ecosystem and Transformation Center (hereinafter referred to as the Global Center). Minister of Finance Lan Foan and World Bank President David Malpass delivered opening remarks and signed the memorandum for the Global Center as well as the agreement to continue the China-WB Group Partnership Fund. Vice Minister of Finance Liao Min and World Bank Vice President for East Asia and The Pacific, Victoria Kwakwa, delivered closing remarks. Representatives from over 20 embassies and international organizations in China, along with more than a hundred representatives from relevant domestic departments and research institutions, attended the event. Lan Foan emphasized that over the past decade, the central government has invested nearly 6 trillion yuan to fully support the construction of Beautiful China. The "gold content" of China's ecological environment has significantly improved, and the "green content" of development has noticeably increased. At the same time, China has taken on the responsibilities of a major country and demonstrated great leadership, achieving a significant transformation from being a participant in Global Environmental Governance to becoming a leader. China is willing to use the Global Center as a bridge to share its experience in ecological protection and development, and to jointly embark on the path of green transformation with other countries.
