On December 10, local time, the chemical company Celanese Corp announced that its current Chief Operating Officer, Scott Richardson, has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer effective January 1, 2025, and will join the company's Board of Directors. Richardson will succeed Lori Ryerkerk, who will resign from her positions as President, Chief Executive Officer, and Celanese Board member at the end of the year. Edward Galante, who has been elected as an independent director of Celanese since 2013, will serve as the Chairman of the Celanese Board of Directors, effective upon Ryerkerk's departure.
