Recently, Hebei Steel and bhp group ltd signed a "Memorandum of Understanding on Decarbonization Cooperation in the Steel Industry" in peking. According to the new memorandum, both parties plan to carry out larger-scale experiments to verify the emission reduction potential of blast furnace and hydrogen metallurgy technologies, and enhance the industry influence of related projects and technologies. The two sides will continuously optimize the application effects of iron ore in the direct reduced iron-electric arc furnace steelmaking process, jointly promote life cycle assessment projects, and comprehensively track and evaluate the actual effects of reducing greenhouse gas emission intensity. In addition, the training of technical talents and the sharing of industry knowledge will also become key focuses of cooperation to support best practices aligned with climate visions and accelerate the implementation of technological solutions with scalable application potential.
