Chairman of the ISM Services Committee, Steve Miller, stated that the USA service PMI in November was 52.1, 3.9 lower than October's 56, marking the ninth time this index is in the expansion range this year. The business activity index for November was 53.7, 3.5 lower than October's 57.2, making it the fifth month of expansion after contracting in June. The employment index entered the expansion range for the fourth time in 5 months, at 51.5. The decline in November's service PMI was driven by the decrease in four directly impacted sub-indices (business activity, new orders, employment, and supplier deliveries indices). However, business activities in 14 industries saw growth, while new orders increased in 13 industries. This reinforces the view of sustained growth recovery in the service industry over the past few months.
