Reports indicate that Hillhouse Investment is planning to expand its business in Japan by forming a local team of approximately 20 people, including hiring new employees and transferring personnel from other offices. Former Bain Capital Asia-Pacific private equity team partner Tomohiro Kikuta has been appointed to lead the business expansion. It is reported that Hillhouse currently operates its business in a shared office in Tokyo and is planning to establish its own office in the first half of next year.
