Vale SA has learned that the company began trial operation of the Capanema maximization project on the 3rd, aiming to increase the annual production capacity of iron ore in the Mariana Integrated Operations Area in Minas Gerais, Brazil by 15 million tons. The project includes investment to restore operations in the Capanema mining area, install a long-distance conveyor belt, and make adjustments to the stockyards and loading yards at the end point of the Timbopeba railroad. The Capanema mining area will fully utilize autonomous trucks in its operation to ensure safer and more efficient operation. The mining area will produce sinter feed by using natural moisture separation, thus avoiding tailings. (Interface News)
