Today, the China Insurance Association released the "Pumped Storage Power Plant Insurance Risk Assessment Guidelines" and "Electrochemical Energy Storage Power Plant Insurance Risk Assessment Guidelines", achieving full life cycle risk identification from the construction period to the operation period of pumped storage and electrochemical energy storage power plants. It clearly explains the risk characteristics, risk information collection, risk assessment criteria, and other contents of the two types of energy storage power plants, providing a reference for insurance product and service innovation in the energy storage sector. With the release of these documents, the China Insurance Association has basically completed the self-discipline regulatory system for insurance risk assessment in the main power generation and energy storage areas (nuclear energy, coal, hydropower, photovoltaic, wind power, pumped storage, electrochemical energy storage), which is of great significance for the insurance industry to better serve national strategic objectives.
