On December 2nd local time, Sudanese Defense Minister Yasir Ibahim Yasir stated at a press conference held in the port city of Sudan Port in eastern Sudan that the Sudanese Armed Forces have made significant progress in central Sudan. Yasir Ibahim Yasir said that the Sudanese Armed Forces have regained control of the eastern Um Garra area in the central Gezira state of Sudan, with the previous occupying Rapid Support Forces retreating towards the Gezira state capital of Wad Madani. Um Garra is located about 40 kilometers east of Wad Madani, and after the Sudanese Armed Forces took control of this area, they continued to advance towards Wad Madani from the east and south. Yasir Ibahim Yasir also stated that the Sudanese Armed Forces regained control of the Sennar Sugar Factory and its surrounding areas in the northern part of the Sennar state in central Sudan.
