On December 2, the 16th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (COP16) opened in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, and the China Pavilion held its opening ceremony on the same day. COP16 specially set up the China Pavilion, marking China's first overseas exhibition and promotion of desertification prevention and the 'Three-North' reforestation campaign. The China Pavilion, with a total area of over 600 square meters, is the largest national theme pavilion outside the host country and will be used to hold exhibitions on China's desertification prevention, as well as host a series of side events.
