Volkswagen workers across Germany initiated a strike on Monday after union leaders and management failed to reach an agreement on how to cut costs. All Volkswagen factories in Germany (except one) are engaged in what is called a warning strike—temporary strikes aimed at pressuring management during stalled negotiations, starting with the company's flagship electric vehicle plant in Saxony. Volkswagen's stock price once fell by 1.9%. 'If necessary, this will be the toughest collective bargaining battle in Volkswagen's history,' said Thorsten Gröger, the chief negotiator for the IG Metall union in the Volkswagen negotiations, before the rally.
